What to expect at a timeshare presentation or club orientation
Every company runs its presentation differently, but most follow a similar pattern. Knowing it ahead of time makes the day easier.
- Check-in. Bring ID. Most offers require both people named on the voucher to be there.
- Getting to know you. Expect questions about how often you travel and where you like to go.
- The product. For a timeshare, that may be a tour of a model unit. For a travel club, it is usually a walk through the booking system and member rates.
- The numbers. This is where you hear the price, the dues and any financing.
- The decision. You say yes or no. A no should end the meeting, and you still receive what the offer promised.

- Are there special assessments? Some owners get billed for big repairs.
- How do I cancel after signing? Ask about the cancellation or "cooling-off" period, and get it in writing.
- What can I actually book? Ask to see real availability for dates you would travel.
- How do your prices compare with public booking sites? Ask whether the company guarantees them.
- Why is this deal only good today? A fair offer should still make sense tomorrow.
Take the paperwork home if you need time. A good product holds up after a night's sleep.
